The Julesburg Public Library was constructed as a WPA project under the auspices of the Julesburg Women’s Club, was dedicated on October 8, 1937, and was placed on the Colorado State Register of Historical Properties on August 8, 2001.

In 2007, a ramp and automatic doors were added to the east side of the building to provide handicapped accessibility.

The library provides computer and Internet access for the public, books and videos for children, juniors and adults, audio books and CDs as well as references, large print and local history books.

In 2012, the Department of Labor and Employment introduced computer workstations called Virtual Workforce Centers at libraries across Colorado. One of the first libraries to receive the new digital technology was the Julesburg Public Library, this is a fantastic way to utilize available resources for training and employment opportunities.

Another method for getting access to reading is through AspenCat. This allows the readers to see books and e-books in our book collection, as well as collections across the state.

During the summer, our library offers a summer reading program for children in preschool through third grade.
